How to Submit Final Drafts

Note: Completing this will take a while, so give yourself enough time.

When you complete each essay, you will turn in not only the final revision, but a few supporting documents as well.

Using the OCC Email (NOT the Canvas Email), copy and paste reflection and final draft in an email to me (dbordelon@ocean.edu).  In the same email, attached a completed editing check list. Subject line?  The assignment name and your course and section number.

For specifics see below.

  1. Copy and paste reflecting on your work (See below)
  2. Copy and paste your final revision: the final, revised version of the essay. Follow sample MLA format essay ("Course Documents") for format. This, my friends, is a no-brainer: take the sample essay in one hand, and your essay in the other and make your essay match the layout of name, line spacing, page numbering, etc. from the sample essay. All of the essays handed in need to have a title.

Be sure to proofread carefully – as the author of the paper you are responsible for any grammatical or typographical errors.

For format, you can download and follow the handy "MLA Template" ("Course Documents") -- and be sure to include a correctly formatted Work Cited page (See "Citing Sources" link on the left).
  3. Attach completed editing self-check list: from I&C -- scan or snap of photo of page.
This work should be emailed before midnight on the due date listed in the syllabus

Reflecting on Your Work
Now that you've finished writing your essay, it's time to reflect upon the process.

1. Write a paragraph discussing what you've learned about the topic itself. This could be specific (what a demagogue is?) or general (the importance of college; how civic stances effect all of our lives).
2. Write a paragraph discussing what you've learned about writing (writing this particular essay -- anything from research to proofreading) from this assignment.
